Edward Redd, is a double degree engineer graduate of Marquette University who born and raised in the Chicago-land Area. After serving as an after school instructor with Orion’s Mind and volunteering and serving as Co-Director with the Fellowship Community Service (F.C.S.), in Oak Park. Edward Redd became the Executive Director of YEMBA Inc at its inception in December, 2007. Edward has successfully provided programs in the Austin and Oak Park community, which has served to mentor over 800 youth. He is an alumni of the Dominican University “Community Leadership Program".
Charles Isaac holds an MBA from Walden University and a B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering from Fairmont State University. He is a trustee of Fellowship Community Church in Oak Park. Charles joined YEMBA in 2015 and has been involved in training our team of mentors and Jr. mentors, communicating with community stakeholders and parents; while continuing to assist in curriculum development and mentoring workshop oversight.
Dawayne Choice holds a Master of Arts from Huntington University and a B.S. in Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is currently the Lead Pastor of Engage Christian Church. Dawayne is very passionate about being able to make a difference in the lives of other and has served as a youth pastor, basketball coach and mentor for over 10+ years. He believes that his testimony of struggle throughout his journey has equipped him with tools to help empower others currently experiencing the same transitions. Dawayne joined our YEMBA team in 2016.
Mentor Coach Instructor
Jerome found his passion as a volunteer in the Austin YMCA, mentoring and teaching youth’s how to play basketball for 32+ years. In 2011, he was hired as recreational program coordinator which he fulfilled until closure in 2013. Currently, Jerome serves as a lead Recreational Instructor at Friday Night Place. He has been faithfully devoted as a mentor to inspiring our youth mentally, spiritually and physically since becoming a part of the YEMBA team in 2010. Jerome, loves mentoring our mentees, sharing his story, and encouraging them that they can become anything they put their minds too.
Bryant Allen is a junior at OPRF High School with a 3.7 GPA, who aspires to be an Entrepreneur. He was a mentee of YEMBA and Friday Night Place during his middle school years. Bryant began his philanthropic journey with YEMBA in 2015. He enjoys being able to relate, converse, and share his journey with the middle school students to help guide them through their current transition. Furthermore, he is self-motivated and hardworking. During his spare time, he enjoys playing video games and basketball.
Daniel is a junior at OPRF High School who aspires to be a Veterinarian. He was a mentee of YEMBA and Friday Night Place during his middle school years. Danny began his humanitarian journey with YEMBA in 2015. He enjoys being able to help other youths with his communication and problem solving skills. Daniel is also fluent in Spanish, wrestles, and plays the trumpet.
Teriq is a junior at OPRF High School who aspires to be a Music and Film Producer. He was a mentee of YEMBA and Friday Night Place during his middle school years. Teriq began his benevolent journey with YEMBA in 2016. He enjoys being able to impact and guide youths for positive development. During his spare time, he enjoys playing video games and sports.
